Identification | Some specimens show a randomly arranged marbled appearance, others can be uniform in dorsum and flank coloration which is brown to dark brown with slightly lighter belly. This species also is distinguished by having an incomplete lateral line. |
Sexing | In ventral view especially, females are much broader in the body than males of equal age and rearing practices. |
