Etymology | Cetopsorhamdia: Greek, ketos = a marine monster or whale and the Brazilian vernacular name, Nhamdia/Jamdia. The specific epithet is from the Latin "clathratus", meaning latticed, screened, or reticulate, in allusion to the network colour pattern of its flanks. |
