Scientific Name Pseudobagarius eustictus  Ng & Kottelat, 2021
Common Name
Type Locality Keng Ban Veun rapids at Ban Mouang Mor, 1.5 km downstream of bridge about 7 km S of Kenethao, Nam Heung, Xayaburi Province, Laos, 17°40'59"N, 101°24'03"E, elevation 242 meters.
Etymology The specific epithet is the Latinization of the Greek adjective ἐὔστικτος, meaning variegated, in reference to the mottled head of this species.

Identification Catfish of the genus Pseudobagarius are akysids with the snout extending well in front of the tip of lower jaw (which renders the mouth subterminal). The front and back nostrils are relatively large and closely set (separated only by the base of the nasal barbel). The caudal fin is deeply forked.
